So You Think You Can Dance Australia - The Final Six

Kate is hot. Demi and Vanessa...not so much so. Like I care which one of them go. Having finally managed to get over the gorgeous Jemma being booted from the show, I'm hot for Kate and I'll be backing her all the way. The good thing about that purely aesthetic choice is that Kate is also the best female dancer on the show. Oh yes she is. Just open your eyes, my friends. One of the things that a number of the top twenty dancers don't seem to realise is that dancing is a performance. It's not just about being techincally accurate, it's also about putting on a fantastic show. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Demi just doesn't seem to get over her lesbianism. Vanessa is just plain annoying. The two of them are brilliant in their respective fields, but they don't seem to be comfortable in other styles and they spend so much time getting it right that they fail to give their dances any life. No matter what Kate does, she puts in a huge effort to bringing the piece to life. Witness the hip hop routine and her rhumba (can Jason Gilkison do no wrong?).

And, oh, how much am I hoping Rhys is banging Kate. Yes I know he's gay, but if he's not shagging Kate (and, indeed Jemma before her), then he is one of the best actors you've ever seen in your life. Kate and Rhys's rhumba was the most romantic thing ever (how much did we cheer when Kate drew Rhys' name?) danced on that stage. Not as sexy as Rhys and Jemma's Pasa Dobla (oh wow was that sexy) but easily the most romantic dance we've seen. Both Jack and Graeme are trying hard and both are really quite talented, but the fact is their partners are fairly ordinary, is really letting them down. Their dances were so forgettable I struggle to remember even what they were, to be honest.

The trios came next with Vanessa looking hopelessly out of her depth in the song, being neither sexy nor in time with the other two girls. Nacho Pop would probably have been better off choreographing the boys to be honest. Meanwhile Jason Coleman was moaning about the fact that the fantastic Supple routine for the boys - "Madagascar" meets "The Three Stooges" - didn't have enough unison for him to point out who was shit. So, what, Jason, they were all good? Just say it man.

Actually, is Jason gay or straight? I mean seriously? His flirting with Natalie tonight was so astonishing it wasn't funny. Actually, it was almost up there with Graeme's bizarre comments about Vanessa. He's going to have a fantastic week ahead of him with Vanessa...OK...but then what was with the little dance he did when he said that? And, oh please...I'd like to thank my heavenly father? Just say God for his sake. And never, ever hand Vanessa a microphone. Let's just be thankful that we don't have to hear that stupid voice of hers ever again.

I predicted that Graeme and Vanessa would be the ones to go, and frankly I was pretty happy that it happened. Graeme's solo routine was just a tad ordinary, and I think Jack has the edge over him. If Australia has any sense Kate and Rhys will be the top two, with Rhys winning over all (although his solo tonight was also a bit ordinary). Either one of them winning will make me happy.

"B" for some fantastic dance routines.
